What are the requirements for Adult Care Home Operators and other staff?
- Pass an annual criminal background check
- Demonstrate English proficiency
- Have financial resources and a good credit history
- Be physically fit and able to provide care
- Have verifiable hands-on caregiving experience
- Complete an operator orientation, a basic training course, and pass an exam
- Abide by Multnomah County rules and policies
- Prepare for quarterly unannounced licensing and monitoring visits
- Required to maintain accurate records, including: Care plans, medication records and progress notes
- Own or lease a home that meets structural and safety requirements
- Complete annual continuing education training
- Maintain any licensure, such as Registered Nurse, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Certified Medical Assistant
- Operators must be at least 21 years old and caregivers must be at least 18 years old
