Description: Portland Urban Area Emergency Transportation Routes (2005) are generalized into a polygon-based segment/node model, overlain on permanent ground deformation data from a major earthquake, and categorized based on the maximum amount of ground failure the segment may experience at any portion along its length. The model assumes the segment is impassable if any portion of the road segment experiences ground failure. Ground failure is not guaranteed, however, as the Hazus ground failure model provides both an amount of ground failure (lateral spread) and a probability of failure.
